Snow Go!
Town's game this afternoon is OFF
Despite a mammoth effort from Town staff and fans, today's home fixture against Southend has been called off.
The referee made the decision at a pitch inspection just after 8:30am, deeming the playing surface unplayable.
Certain areas in the stands and around the County Ground were also considered unsafe after snow turned to ice overnight.
No avail:

Earlier in the week, the club hired pitch covers from Sandown racecourse in an attempt to keep the game on, with ground staff and volunteers working all day yesterday and first thing this morning to clear the snow in time.
"We tried our best but the weather has finally beat us," said STFC chief executive Nick Watkins, "huge thanks to everyone who made the effort to make this game happen."
